Abstract

1390799 Automatic analysis; stream splitter DAMON CORP 18 Oct 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 48093/72 Heading G1B Apparatus for dividing flowing fluid with precision into a number of portions of selected relative volumes comprises an input conduit 42 for the fluid to be divided, a plurality of output conduits 58, 62, 64, for receiving portions of the fluid and a housing 54 with which the input and output conduits are connected, the housing having in it a stream-splitting chamber 44 in fluid communication with all the conduits, the streamsplitting chamber preferably including right cone member 74 concentric with the input conduit and with height essentially equal to the diameters of the neck-like passage sections 68. The apparatus may be used to divide a segmented stream of samples from a sampler into portions for delivery to an analysis instrument. A plurality of streamsplitter stages may be used Fig. 1 (not shown).
