1413549 Plastics bags ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 13 July 1973 [15 July 1972] 33593/73 Heading B8K A bag has two walls 1, 2 of flexible and weldable or heat-sealable material connected together by side seams 3, 4 and an integral or separate folded bottom 5, there being inclined seams 8, 9 and bottom seams 10, 11 which give to the base an ellipse-like shape so that the bag can be stood upright. A releasable rib and groove closure is provided at the upper end of the walls. As an alternative to the seams 10, 11 extending all round the bag, strips of paper or pasteboard 12, 13 are stuck to the walls, or secured by cut-outs 14, 15 engaging lugs 17, 18 to form a hoop around the bag bottom. An upper seal 22 may be torn off at perforations 23 when the bag is first opened.
