Abstract

1412634 Lampholder F BORAM Ltd and F BORAM 22 Jan 1973 [25 July 1972] 34787/72 Heading H2E An insulated holder 1 for a wedge-base lamp 2 carries two spring contacts 3, which are located against a shoulder 14 and press against the lamp terminal wires 9 to urge the lamp against one or more inward projections 7, integral with the body and engaging with recess 8 in the lamp base. The projections 7 are on resilient tongues themselves integral with the body. The contact strips 5, having L-shaped section and inserted through corresponding slots 11 in the holder base, are formed with lower part wiring terminal 4 stiffened by impressed ribs, and resilient upper part 5 pressing against the internal wall at ends 6 and 15 and bowed inward to press against the lamp terminals 9. The lower part 4 is prevented from entering too far into the holder by projection 10. In other designs (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) the cross-section of the contacts and slots may be straight, or the bow on the contacts more pronounced and a second projection 10 provided on the opposite vertical edge of part 4.
