Abstract

1370583 Lampholders H SCHURTER AG 18 Dec 1972 [24 Feb 1972] 58415/72 Heading H2E A lampholder, for a lamp 6 of the kind having a pair of contact pins 40, 50 and radial studs 60, comprises an electrically insulating body 1 having contact springs 4, 5 in recesses preferably for snap-retention of the lamp contact heads 40<1>, 50<1>, and a hood 7 which can be fitted over the lamp 6 and plugged into body 1, engaging the body with a snugly-fitting lip 71. The lamp studs 60 are snap-retained by keyhole-shaped slits 72 in the resilient lip 71 of the hood 7 which cannot be separated from the lamp 6 without making the lip 71 exceed the internal diameter of the body 1. The lip 71 of the hood 7 may be provided with additional slits (73, Fig. 3, not shown) to improve its compliance during engagement of the studs 60, and with a bead 7<1> to define a region of close fit in the body 1.
