1411085 Impact pulverisers E H BENTALL & CO LTD 30 Nov 1972 [1 Dec 1971] 55859/ 71 Heading B2A A hammer or beater mill comprises a housing 1, a milling chamber 7 a drive shaft 3' at the full annular speed by the hammers. The mill includes a screen 8 and material is drawn supporting a rotor 4 bearing hammers 5, an inlet passage 10 and an outlet 14, the inlet passage supplying material along the hammers at an angle less than 30‹ to the radial direction. Since the material moves with substantially no angular velocity component it is impacted through the mill and discharged via the outlet 14 by fan blades 9 secured to the drive shaft. The beater members may be fixed beaters or pivoted swing hammers.
