Abstract
1410205 Refractory bricks OSTERREICHISCH-AMERIKANISCHE MAGNESIT AG 11 Dec 1972 [22 Dec 1971] 57022/72 Heading C1A Bricks used for burner blocks of tunnel furnaces are made of magnesium aluminate containing at least 96% MgO and Al 2 O 3 , a CaO content of at most 0À50% and having a porosity of at most 15%, preferably below 10% and preferably below 0À30%. The bricks can be formed of magnesium aluminate produced in a spray reactor and sintered at a temp. of at least 1850‹ C. without a sintering aid or sintered at 1750‹ to 1800‹ C. together with 0À5 to 2À0% of TiO 2 based on the wt. of the aluminate, as a sintering aid, or of magnesium aluminate produced by fusing a mixture of MgO and Al 2 O 3 and comminuting the fused material.
