Abstract
1409346 Propeller guard A M LIAAEN AS 11 July 1973 [12 July 1972] 33037/73 Headings B7V and B7S A propeller guard comprises a nozzle 5 secured to a ship's hull 1 and surrounding ship's propeller 4. At least two fins such as 9, 10, 11 are secured by their fore ends to the hull on respective sides of the hull, the fins being so shaped that their fore edges slope outwardly from fore to aft. The aft ends of the fins are secured to the fore end of the nozzle. In the embodiment shown tube 12 extends along skeg or heel 2 for the supply of vapour or hot gas to loosen ice which may enter the nozzle.
