Abstract

1,263,851. Manoeuvring boats. D. PFEIFFER. 12 March, 1970 [13 March, 1969], No. 11926/69. Heading B7V. In a marine craft jet propulsion unit 18 outlet tubes 5 in the stern portion of the craft eject a jet of air below the waterline, each tube being pivotable about a vertical axis through a predetermined angle 14 in response to movement of steering wheel 10. In the embodiment shown non-pivotable tubes 17 also linked to propulsion unit 18 can be used for braking the forward motion of the craft and for going astern.
