Abstract

1408951 Shelving E G HAGELIN 2 Nov 1972 50469/72 Heading A4B [Also in Division F2] For a shelving assembly, the connection between a horizontal I-beam 2 and a vertical, tubular column 1 of polygonal section having pairs of vertically spaced triangular apertures 3 with their apices pointing downwards on at least two side walls, is formed by locating the flanges above and below a rectangular cut-out 4 in the end of the beam's web in a respective aperture 3, the edges of the flanges having slots which, by lowering the beam, are engageable over the aperture's edges. The corresponding triangles on different column walls are all at the same level. A plate 10 is horizontally slidable on the beam's web so that its upper surface is engageable with the top of the lower apertures 3 to prevent removal of the beam. The sides of the apertures 3 may be curved.
