Abstract

Panels and panelled work. - Panels and like articles of cabinet work are constructed from a core a, with the grain running transversely, veneered on both sides with the grains crossed and with battens d glued thereon to make the frame, and suitable attached mouldings f and other mouldings e formed by pressure during the glueing. Fig. 3 shows a section through the frame and one panel of a door, a fillet g being inserted to cover the bottom of the core. The battens d may be glued to the core a with or without the veneers b, c and veneer glued thereon, mouldings being formed by pressure during the glueing operation.
