Abstract

1408020 Liquid cargoes transfer EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 29 Dec 1972 [26 Jan 1972] 60020/72 Heading B8E To transfer liquid cargo from a moored storage member such as tanker 10 to an offtake tanker 24, moored in tandem thereto, a hose 14 has to be payed out from the member 10 with the aid of a rack 12 before connection between manifolds on the member 10 and tanker 24. The rack 12 extends longitudinally of the hose 14, is provided with rollers 22 or other means to and the movement of the hose and its end portion 16 has a configuration to prevent the hose from bending beyond its minimum bend radius. In a modified arrangement the rack extends outboard along the side of the member 10 and its end portion is pivoted to the main fixed part and is capable of being raised by a standard hoist from an inclinded operative position to a raised horizontal stowed position.
