1406226 Hydraulic control circuits W M B FITZGERALD 14 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 21042/74 Divided out of 1406221 Heading F1P A pressurized hydraulic sump system for supplying pressurized liquid to the I.C. engine-driven pump of the parent Specification comprises a cylinder 555 connected to a pump supply manifold 593 and having a free piston 556 slidable over a fixed piston 601 defining a chamber 600 connected via the fixed piston bore to a port 607 of a control valve 69. Manifold pressure acts on valve 69 via port 605, and the output pressure from the I.C. engine-driven pump is connected to valve port 608, such that valve member 604 is controlled by the manifold pressure and a spring 606 to maintain a predetermined pressure in the manifold. A fall in manifold pressure below the predetermined level causes valve member 604 to connect the output pressure pump to chamber 600 to move piston 556 upwardly. A rise in manifold pressure above the predetermined level causes valve member 604 to connect chamber 600 to the manifold to move piston 556 downwardly.
