Abstract

1406037 Two-part couplings RISTS WIRES & CABLES Ltd 15 Nov 1972 [8 Jan 1972] 944/72 Heading H2E An airtight lead-through electrical connector for mounting in a panel or bulkhead, 5, has double-ended socket contact members 12, which are moulded into a plastics body 6, and is able to accept mating connector bodies 9, 10, each carrying contact pins, 19. Resilient integral latch hooks 16, and gasket 18 against flange 15, fasten and seal the body 6 into an aperture 4 in panel 5. Integral barb-shaped lugs 23, projecting from body 6, accept resilient latch members 24, which extend from the mating connector bodies 9, 10. Each contact member 12, Fig. 4, has socket sleeve portions 13, 14, joined by a portion 20 of semicircular section, with tangs 22 and holes 21 which, bonded by moulding material, ensure sealing between the connector ends. A convenient moulding material for body 6 is polypropylene.
