Abstract

1350378 Cases for couplings ITW Ltd 4 June 1971 [5 June 1970] 27345/70 Heading H2E An electrically insulating casing for assembly around a push-on connector joining a heater element 44 to a lead 32 comprises two identical generally semi-cylindrical parts 8, 9 of moulded plastics or reinforced plastics material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250‹ C., and having integral resilient barbed projections 12 and complementary slots 14 to enable the parts to be snap-fastened together. Glass-reinforced nylon and PTFE are specified as suitable materials for the casing. As shown, the casing has interior shoulders 28 which engage shoulders 46 on the connector part joined to leads 32. Alternatively, parts 8, 9 may be integrally hinged together along one pair of adjacent edges; or more than two parts may be used.
