Abstract

1405559 Rock drilling ATLAS COPCO AB 5 Oct 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 46684/73 Heading B3C A drilling apparatus comprises a feed beam 4, a slide 13, 19, Fig. 3, movable along the beam, and a drilling machine 12, the drilling machine is connected to the slide by a hinge 20, 26 the axis of which is transverse to the slide, the drilling machine axis 15 is substantially parallel to the beam, and an elastic element 17, 18 is arranged between the machine and the slide for opposing, during operation, rotation about the hinge, the drill axis is situated between the hinge axis and the thrust line of feed force to the slide. This arrangement is to compensate for tilting of the slide caused by the eccentrically applied feed force. Feed in via chains 9, 11. The beam is moveably mounted on a holder 24 and can be tilted by hydraulic cylinder 6. Frame 1 is mounted on slides 2 which may be replaced by wheels. The arrangement is intended for drilling with diamond bits.
