1400390 Transformers and inductors KOH CHEW SENG 20 June 1972 [9 July 1971] 32272/71 Heading HIT A laminated core comprises two stacks of U- shaped laminations of grain orientated steel disposed side by side such that limbs 3 and 4 constitute a central core, the outer limbs 5 and 6 being bent over to rest against this central core, and the magnetic circuit being completed by two U-shaped laminated caps 7, 8, the ends of the limbs of which are placed in contact with the ends of the limbs 3, 4, 5 and 6, or alternatively alternate laminations may be of different lengths such that the caps may be fitted into the ends of the limbs. Magnetic shunts may be provided.
