Abstract

1399080 Machine tools ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 15 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 11553/74 Heading B3C [Also in Division F2] A machine tool drivable by an electric motor comprises a housing formed from two shells 1 and 2 and a transmission for coupling a drive shaft 8 of the motor to a spindle 5 of the tool, the transmission has a lay shaft 10 mounted at one end by means of a bearing 16 located in a bearing block 17 secured to one of the shells, the bearing being secured in position by means of the other shell. As shown the bearing block is moulded into half shell 1. The block has a slot 18 with a bottom shaped to accept the bearing. Shell 2 has an extension 20 that projects into the slot. A resiliently deformable insert 22 is in the free end of the extension and projects slightly beyond the front thereof. Thus when assembled the insert retains the bearing in position with a little initial tension.
