An armature comprises a cylindrical body adapted to be mounted on the rotor shaft, and a flexible printed-circuit sheet 11 wrapped around the body and secured thereto, with the conductors 12 in the sheet interconnected to constitute the armature, all preferably as in Specification 955,251, but in this case certain of the conductors are formed with integral portions 13 which are bent through 90 degrees to constitute the segments of a face-type commutator of the machine.
