Abstract

1,113,428. Dynamo - electric machines. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 6 Oct., 1965 [14 Oct., 1964], No. 41857/64. Heading H2A. The subject matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specifications 1,113,426 and 1,113,427, but the claims are concerned with ensuring that the slip ring unit 58 rotates with the rotor 51. This is effected by lugs 62, 63 on the unit engaging recesses 64, 65 in the rotor, or vice versa. As shown, the rotor is that of a road vehicle alternator and carries a field winding 21 connected through the recesses, bores in the lugs, and a connector 60 and a slip ring extension, to the slip rings 18, 19 which are embedded in a synthetic resin moulding a part 59 of which has a tight fit on the rotor shaft 44 and is urged axially by a spring washer 66. The unit 58 includes an integral synthetic resin fan 61.
