1275916 Dynamo-electric machines having fans JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 23 Oct 1969 [22 Nov 1968] 55518/68 Heading H2A [Also in Division F1] In a dynamo-electric machine, e.g. an alternator, having rotatably mounted in a casing 11 a rotor shaft upon a portion 12 of which extending from the casing is mounted a rotatable fan 15 having radially extending blades 17 which include respective axially extending portions 18, flexure of the blades is resisted by a spring steel backing disc 19 mounted rotatably on the shaft portion and engaging the extremities of the blades remote from the axially extending portions. To effect this the disc 19 is made in a convex shape.
