1462153 Commutator machines SIEMENS AG 16 May 1975 [16 May 1974] 21019/75 Heading H2A An electrical machine has an electrically conductive rotary portion (4), Fig. 1 (not shown), on a shaft (5), and a member (2) carrying brushes 7, 8, 9 and having protuberances 21, 22, 23 extending radially outwardly relative to the shaft (5), the protuberances 21, 22, 23 being held between a first (1) and a second part 3 of a housing which surrounds the rotary portion (4), the boundary between parts (1) and 3 extending transversely of shaft (5), with the protuberances engaging in respective recesses 31, 32, 33 in one of said housing parts (1), 3 so that the housing parts (1), 3 provide stops against axial and radial movement of the brush-carrying member (2). A windscreen wiper motor has an injection moulded plastics plate (2) integrally formed with the protuberances 21, 22, 23, with portions 24, 25, 26 carrying carbon brushes 7, 8, 9 engaging a commutator 6, and with half-open sleeves 27, 28, 29 receiving anti-interference choke coils whose axial positions therein are defined by stops 271, 281, 291 integral with plate (2). The first housing part (1), Fig. 1, contains rotor (4) stator magnets (13), (14) and one bearing (10) of shaft (5), and the second housing part 3 contains another bearing (11) of shaft (5) and a worm (19) and worm wheel (12) transmission, the protuberances 21, 22, 23 being located in the recesses 31, 32, 33 of housing part (1) or 3 via noise-damping rubber members 15, 16, 17 which aid in forming a seal between the housing parts (1), 3.
