Abstract

1396993 Ventilators CLEAR HOOTERS Ltd 18 April 1973 [19 April 1972] 18143/72 Heading F4V An air supplying unit for a vehicle comprises a tubular housing 1, a nozzle having a rim 3 shaped as a zone of a sphere and universally swivellable in the housing 1, a butterfly flap 10 upstream of the nozzle and actuatable by a rotatable shaft 7 through gears 8, 9, the shaft 7 being mounted in a bearing 6 which is fixed to the housing 1 and mounted within a hub 4 of the nozzle, and the bearing surfaces of the bearing 6 and hub 4 being part-spherical, whereby the flap 10 may be opened and closed by rotation of shaft 7 whatever the position of the nozzle. The components of the unit may be plastics mouldings.
