Abstract

1407992 Ventilators CREATORS Ltd 1 Feb 1973 [3 March 1972] 9934/72 Heading F4V A nozzle for delivering air in a car, ship or aircraft comprises a body 1a 1b defining a partspherical external surface for swivellable mounting in a correspondingly shaped housing, one or, as shown, two pivotally mounted flaps 9, 10 for controlling the airflow rate through the nozzle and a rotatable control knob 18 linked to the flaps 9, 10 by a sleeve 32 having flexible resilient arms 33, 34 connected at their free ends to the flaps, whereby rotation of knob 18 produces twisting of arms 33, 34 and consequential pivoting of flaps 9, 10. The flaps 9, 10 are pivotable about parallel axes or a common axis. The nozzle components are plastics mouldings. The sleeve 32 is made of rubber or plastics.
