Abstract

1394462 Ventilators CREATORS Ltd 1 March 1973 [11 May 1972] 22110/72 Heading F4V A swivellable nozzle for supplying air to a car, ship or aircraft comprises a body 1 having a part spherical outer surface, one or, as shown, two pivotally mounted flaps 10 and a manually operable control member having a knob 20, a rotatably mounted spindle 21 and a disc or annular member 25 which has a friction drive surface pressed into contact with portions of the flaps 10, whereby rotation of the knob 20 produces closing or opening movement of the flaps 10. The disc 25 may be made of rubber and is fixed to a disc 24 on the spindle 21, which disc 24 is biased towards the flaps 10 by a rubber washer 30, a spring washer or a spring. The flaps 10 may pivot about a common axis. The components of the nozzle are formed as plastics mouldings.
