Abstract

1518976 Ventilators DAIMLER BENZ AG 8 Sept 1975 [7 Sept 1974] 36850/75 Heading F4V A ventilating nozzle for a vehicle dashboard comprises a tubular member 1 defining an air flow passage and having a part spherical outer surface, the member 1 being received in a socket 2 having a correspondingly shaped part spherical inner surface, two flaps 8 pivotally mounted on a common axle 7 which extends across the airflow passage, the flaps 8 being simultaneously operable through bevel gears 5, 5<SP>1</SP> by a control member in the form of a spider 4, and a web 9 carried by the member 1 and having a bearing aperture for the shaft of the spider 4, wherein a downstream edge of the web 9 and an upstream edge of each of the arms of the spider 4 are complementarily shaped. The spider 4 may have four arms at right angles one to another, and rotation of the spider through 90 degrees may correspond to movement of the flap 8 from their closed to their open positions or vice versa. The axle 7 and the web 9 may be arranged parallel or at right angles to one another. A textile seal 3 may be provided between member 1 and socket 2.
