Abstract

1,177,390. Heating and ventilating nozzles for vehicles. CLEAR HOOTERS Ltd. 20 Dec., 1968 [26 Sept., 1967], No. 43711/67. Heading F4V. A heating and ventilating nozzle comprises a housing 1 connected to an air supply duct 4, a cylindrical deflector member 2 closed at its ends and having at least one pair of apertures 6, 6<SP>1</SP> and a vane assembly 9 comprising vanes mounted obliquely on a spindle 8 coaxial with the deflector member. Seals 5 coact with the wall of the deflector member. An adjusting wheel 7 permits the deflector member to be rotated up or down and a similar wheel (10, Fig. 1, not shown) enables the vanes and spindle to be rotated to deflect the airflow left or right. In a modification, a sleeve may be fitted around the deflector member or between the latter and the vane assembly. The sleeve has apertures in register with apertures 6, 6<SP>1</SP> so that relative rotation of the sleeve and deflector member adjusts the air flow.
