Abstract

1,055,720. Ventilators. FANMANCO Ltd. April 27, 1965 [April 28, 1964], No. 17614/64. Heading F4V. [Also in Division F1] In the ventilation apparatus shown, comprising a pair of fans 1, 2 (one operative and one standby) communicating through outlets 3, 4 with a common outlet 5, a single V-shaped valve 6 pivoted at 7 is moved by the air pressure of the operative fan to a position in which one side 8 or 9 of the valve closes the outlet of the standby fan, and the other side forms part of the wall of the passage extending between the operative fan outlet and the common outlet 5. The valve 6 may be a hollow three-sided member or comprise two blades forming an integral member of V-section. Sealing seating members 10, 11, e.g. of rubber-coated angle iron, for the valve 6 are secured to the sides of the common outlet 5. Guide vanes 14, 15 are provided but these need not extend into the common outlet 5. The tension in driving belts 19, 20 may be adjusted by rotating the driving motors about pivots 21, 22 by means of screws 23, 24.
