Abstract

1396101 Stay BRISTOL PRECISION TOOLS LTD and W G WEEKS 26 April 1972 [7 April 1971 1 July 1971] 8979/71 and 30881/71 Heading E2F A stay comprises slidably mounted inner and outer tubes 12 and 10 having holes 14, 16 which can receive the head 44 of a locking pin 40 when in alignment but which are normally biased out of alignment by spring 28 to retain the head; a sleeve 32 being connected to the inner tube by a pin 34 and can move it against the spring to align the holes. A plunger 36 can be moved by a screw adjustment 38 in sleeve 32 to abut the end of the outer tube to lock the holes out of alignment by preventing movement of the sleeve. A ball end 20 on a mounting bracket 24 provides a universal connection for the end of the tube 10 and a further pin 42 is provided to retain the stay in the closed position.
