Abstract

1395756 Finishing yarns MICHELE RATTI SpA 4 April 1972 15526/72 Heading D1F In a method of thermally fixing, at a desired tension, a twisted yarn, or a plurality of threads or fibres one or more of which is or are twisted or coiled, or two yarns coupled together without any (additional) twisting and one of which at least is not twisted on itself, the running yarn &c after uninterrupted unwinding from twisting or coiling members, is/are passed between two spaced units of feed rollers rotated at such different speeds as to overfeed or underfeed yarn &c, which is dry heated e.g. within a hot air chamber, therebetween without directly contacting hot surfaces. It is stated that the invention is not applicable to bulked or crimped yarns.
