1394309 Motor vehicle brakes; axles ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 12 Feb 1973 6711/73 Headings B7H and B7D A wheel hub assembly for a non-driven axle 10 of a vehicle comprises a hub 1 and a brake drum la forming a casing which accommodates an hydraulic retarder 4 having a rotatable part 5 driven from the hub 1 through a shaft 6 and planetary gearing 7, 8, the fixed part 9 of the retarder being secured to a brake carrier 2 attachable to the axle. An electrical retarder may be used instead of an hydraulic retarder.
