Abstract

1393891 Soldering ADCOLA PRODUCTS Ltd 19 July 1972 [12 May 1971] 14492/71 Heading B3R A desoldering iron comprises a hollow bit 1 with an axially extending narrow bore 11 leading to one end of an elongated solder receiving chamber 2 in line with the bit and connected at its other end to a suction device 3, a handle 5 whose axis is transverse to that of the bit and a stand 6 extending from the handle in the region of its end nearer the bit in a direction generally parallel with the bit such that when the iron is supported by the stand and the end of the handle remote from the stand, the bit points downwardly. The bit is screwed on to one end of the chamber 2 and the latter is surrounded by an electrical heating element 16 enclosed by a cover 17 to which the handle 5 is connected by a clip 22. A suction bulb 3 is connected to the chamber 2 by a connection 18 and tubing 4 and the latter passes through the stand 6 connected to the handle adjacent cooling vanes 24.
