Abstract

1392449 Fuel injectors CAV Ltd 20 July 1972 [27 July 1971] 35314/71 Heading F1B A valve element 12, movable by fuel under pressure to allow fuel flow from an orifice, is re- siliently loaded by a bundle 16 of fibres, e.g. glass fibres, extending substantially transversely to the axis of movement of the element. The element may be additionally loaded by a metal spring and the resilient force exerted can be adjusted by altering the thickness of the shim 20. The opposite ends of the fibre bundle 16 are retained in C-shaped members 17 and the spindle 14 engages a clamp 15 around the bundle.
