Abstract

1392435 Manure spreaders ARCHIE KIDD Ltd 4 Aug 1972 [7 May 1971] 13699/71 Heading A1D [Also in Division B8] Liquid slurry is retained in a spreader body 2 by setting a door 18 in its closed position (Fig. 2), and is supplied at a controlled rate to the rotating beaters 6 and 8 by partial opening of the door 18; the door 18 may be moved to its fully open position (Fig. 3) so that solid manure may be spread. Delivery of liquid slurry to the beaters 6 and 8 is ensured by a spring-biassed plate 30 engaging the endless belt conveyor 16. The door 18 is carried by a pair of arms 22 pivoted at 24 and moved by links 25 and 28 and a hydraulic ram. The endless belt conveyor 16 is driven from the tractor power-take-off. The door 18 may be locked in the fully open position (Fig. 3) by a hitch pin. The partial opening of the door 18 may be varied by adjustment of a stop fixed to the hydraulic ram.
