Abstract

987,128. Fertilizer distributers. J S. KALLER. April 18, 1962 [Jan. 29, 1962], No. 15019/62. Heading A1D. A machine for spreading artificial fertilizers comprises a feeding member 9 attached to a shaft 7 and oscillated in the base of each hopper 5 to feed material into a fixed bowl 19, the base of which is formed by a rotatable disc 17 on which are mounted ejecting scoops 18. The bowl has adjustable openings 20 to allow the material to be fed to the scoops 18. The shaft 7 is oscillated by an arm 14 which engages a cam 28 on a landwheel 2, the arm 14 being mounted on a shaft 13 provided with an arm 12 connected by a link 11 with an arm 10 on the shaft 7. A lever 30 on the shaft 13 is operable by the tractor driver by means of a cable 29 to raise the arm 14 clear of the cam 28 to stop the feeding member 9. The discs are driven in opposite directions by a belt drive from the tractor-power shaft.
