Abstract

1392276 Clamping flexible sheets RICOH KK 27 April 1973 [28 April 1972] 20014/73 Heading B6C The trailing edge 8a of a moving sheet 8, which is to be fixed to a moving member such as a printing plate cylinder or a reciprocating platform, is gripped between a claw 34a and a wall 33 by flexing of the sheet into a bight 51, under action of a rotating roller 12, release of the sheet so that its edge 8a rides under the raised claw 34a and lowering at the claw 34a. Preferably the sheet 8 is a flexible printing plate, and is fed to a rotating plate cylinder of a rotary offset printing machine. A leading edge clamp holds one end of the plate, and the claw 34a holds the other. When the plate is clamped, the roller 12 is moved to an inoperative position.
