1432390 Tensioning flexible printing plates RICOH KK 23 July 1973 [24 July 1972] 35067/73 Heading B6C Flexible sheets are fed to rotating drum 1 and are in turn tensioned between leading edge clamp 36 and barbed needles 86 piercing the sheets by a pivoting movement of pivoted member 81, after having had their trailing edges pushed onto the needles by movable roller 88. The needles may be replaced by inclined pins, which pass through preformed apertures in the sheets. After use, e.g., as printing plates, the sheets are released by opening of the leading edge. Clamping and renewal are synchronized by cams rotating with the drum.
