Abstract

1418281 Feeding sheets CENTRE D'ETUDES TECHNIQUES DES INDUSTRIES DE L'HABILLEMENT 3 Jan 1974 [16 Jan 1973] 00238/74 Heading B8R [Also in Division B4] A device for gripping flexible sheet material, e.g. of cloth or plastics material and particularly the uppermost sheet 1 from a pile 2, comprises two converging tapered jaws 4, 5 one jaw having a single pointed tooth 11 and the other jaw two spaced pointed teeth 12, 13, the tooth 11 being movable into the gap between the teeth 12, 13, edges of the teeth adjacent the gap being bevelled as at 14 ... 17 towards the inner surfaces of the jaws. The device may be hand operated or as shown operated by an electromagnet 8 supported by a bracket 9 in a machine. Closing movement of the jaws causes at least one thread 21 of a sheet of cloth fabric to be gripped and urged upwardly between the teeth, Fig. 9.
