Abstract

1,230,314. Printing apparatus. POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG, KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN. 23 Oct., 1969, No. 52036/69. Heading B6C. Printed sheets 1 leaving an impression cylinder 2 in a multi-unit press are transferred to a further impression cylinder 32 by a transfer cylinder which includes associated suction head and gripper pairs 4, 5 which under the influence of a cam action swing inwards in unison to transfer the trailing edge of a sheet on cylinder 2 on to the surface of the transfer cylinder. The transfer operation is aided by flexible guiding strips 7 which project from the transfer cylinder and hold the sheet 1 during the transfer.
