Abstract

139,109. Berland, L. A. Aug. 8, 1919. Cylinders, cooling.-To prevent the water from freezing in the cylinder jacket, a receptacle 12 is provided below the engine into which the water flows and is retained so long as the circulating- pump 13 is out of action. An electric heater 19 serves to melt the ice. It is enclosed in a casing, the walls of which are sufficiently flexible to prevent their being burst by the freezing of the water.
