Cylinders, construction of and cooling ; crank casing. - The burrels A of vertical cylinders are cast in pairs united at the top by a flange B which rests on the top of the crank chamber G which forms a cylinder jacket. The cylinder heads E are cut in pairs or blocks of four and rest on the flanges B which are pierced at B<1> for the passage of water from the jacket K. The base of the jacket is formed by a packed flange C on the barrels, while a lower flange N separates an air charge heating channel L from the crank chamber. The wall A<3> of a tubular case for the valve rods are also an integral part of the barrels.
