Abstract

139,019. Downes, L. W. March 12, 1919. Twist tubes and like twisters.-A core yarn 14 is drawn across the face of a card-covered cylinder 13 upon which are spread asbestos or other fibres in order that the core may be covered by such fibres. The core is twisted upon its axis as it passes across the cylinder by a pair of driven rollers 17, 18, and these rollers are provided at intervals with recesses 19, 20 which free the yarn and allow the twist in the core periodically to return to the normal.
