Abstract

1388788 Converter hoods GOTTFRIED BISCHOFF BAU KOMPL. GASREINIGUNGSUND WASSERRœCKKœHLANLAGEN KG 4 April 1973 [14 April 1972] 16104/73 Headings F4B and F4J A hood for a converter comprises an upper portion 1 and a lower portion 4 which can be raised and lowered by a drive 2. The lower portion 4 has an outwardly extending flange 5 on which is laid a seal formed from a series of links 6, 7 articulated together, their inner faces 8 abutting the outside of the upper portion 1. The links 6, 7 are joined by pins 9 in recesses 10 having some free play so that a degree of radial adjustment of the links is possible. The upper and lower portions of the hood are formed by cooling tubes welded together.
