1388764 Container closures VAN LEER VERPAKKUNGEN GmbH 13 April 1972 17159/72 Heading B8T A screw closure 2 has a circular rib 3 of wedge-shape in cross-section which engages a groove 4 in a mouth 1 of a plastics container. The width of the groove 4 is equal to or less than the depth, and the sides of the groove may be equal in height or one may be shorter than the other, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). In one embodiment, Fig. 5, an insert 9 carries a rib or flange 10 and dispensing of a liquid is effected through an aperture formed in a blind hole 12. A cap without a rib 3 may be screwed over the insert. The closure may be formed as a crown cork or a snap-on closure and may be of metal or plastics material.
