Abstract

1387952 Magnetic printing DATA INTERFACE Inc 30 April 1973 [25 May 1972] 20394/73 Heading G2H A magnetic printing apparatus, in which magnetic images on a tape 10 are developed by magnetic toner flicked from a revolving brush 38, 70 incorporates an electrically conductive path by which the tape surface is connected to earth, so that any areas of electrostatic charge on it are discharged and toner adhering electrostatically cannot interfere with magnetic development. Preferably the conductive path to the tape surface is provided by a mass 50 of toner, dammed by the moving tape on a shelf 48, or by a conductive tape guide 60 with an aperture 62 which allows development.
