Abstract

1387671 Gas burners JUNKERS & CO GmbH 4 Aug 1972 [6 Aug 1971] 36470/72 Heading F4T A gas burner comprises a plurality of elongate burner units 10 mounted transversely on an elongate manifold 11 which is provided with a gas supply inlet 12, each burner unit having a main chamber 14 bounded at its top side remote from the manifold by a longitudinally extending centrally raised wall portion 15 which is formed with main gas-outlet apertures 16 and which comprises two sloping wall sections, a respective expansion chamber 17 with auxiliary gas-outlet apertures 18 being disposed on either side of the centrally raised wall portion 15, and a further centrally raised wall portion 22 raised above the first centrally raised wall portion 15, the wall portion 22 comprising two sloping wall sections each provided substantially centrally thereof with a cross-ignition gas-outlet aperture 25. The cross-section of the cross-ignition apertures is preferably substantially a third smaller than that of the main gas-outlet apertures. The slope of the sloping wall sections of the further wall portion 22 is preferably substantially 1À5 to 2 times greater than that of the sloping wall sections of the first wall portion 15. As shown, the burner units 10 are sealingly pressed against the manifold 11 by means of clamping plates 20.
