Abstract

1386701 Fluid-pressure accumulators J H MERCIER 11 Feb 1972 [25 Feb 1971 24 Dec 1971] 6599/72 Heading F1D A reservoir assembly includes a fluid-pressure accumulator for maintaining fluid in the reservoir at atmospheric pressure comprising a casing 10 divided into chambers 25, 26 by a bladder 20, the chamber 25 communicating through a connector 22 with the atmosphere and the chamber 26 communicating with conduit 38 leading to the closed reservoir 27 by means of perforated end plates 14, 15 of the casing. The mouth 27 of bladder 20 is held between a flange of connector 22 and an end-plate 12 of the casing 10, the connector 22 having a downwardly open end 50 for preventing unnecessary accumulation of dust in chamber 25. The upper end of the casing has a flange 18 for connection to the conduit 38 which leads to the gas space 28 above the liquid L of the reservoir, thus maintaining the gas and liquid at atmospheric pressure. Alternative arrangements of the accumulator and reservoir are also described Figs. 4, 5 (not shown).
