Abstract

1385064 Dolls &c WITEFI ANSTALT 1 Feb 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 4746/72 Heading A6S [Also in Division G5] A doll marionette, display figure, &c has a body in which rotatable members are mounted and are partly exposed to view, the rotatable members having different visual effects on each of their sections which are selectively exposed. In one form, a doll, &c having a body 1, Figs. 1, 2, has a sphere 3 journalled about a horizontal axis a with four different faces depicted upon its four segments 3a, 3b, &c e.g. of a man, woman, boy and girl; a sphere 4 journalled about a horizontal axis b and having representations of different bodies, e.g. of a man's body in Austrian dress; and a frusto-conical member 5, journalled about a vertical axis c and having representations of pairs of legs &c. The rotatable members 3, 4, 5 may be turned by hand to expose different sections through windows in the body 1; alternatively they may be turned by battery powered motors 31, &c under automatic and/or remote control. Two segments 9, 10, having pictures of hair, a nectie, &c are also journalled on the axis a; eye holes 35 may be illumined by lamps 36. The various journals may be provided by push-in pins 11, press studs, &c. Detents 19, &c hold the rotatable members 3, &c in selected positions. Additional members 23, 24 representing arms and a beard, &c are secured externally of the body. A separate member 26 forming a base for hair is mounted on the top of the body; a noze 13 is detachably secured by adhesive, magnetizm, &c to the face. In another embodiment, Figs. 3, 4, two cylinders 3, 4 are journalled in the body 1. The upper rotatable cylinder 3 has slits 17a for a pair of rotatable eye members 18a journalled within it. A spring 41 may connect the upper rotatable cylinder 3 to the body 1. Sound reproducing apparatus 42, &c is carried in the body. A motor 40, Fig. 3, may drive an eccentric mass in the body 1 to cause vibratory, &c movement; alternatively the body may have a weighted base 16, Fig. 4, so that the figure is self-righting. The power for the motor, &c may be provided by batteries or by connecting an outside source to a socket 46.
