Abstract

1293517 Dolls &c DICKER TOY DEVICES INC 24 June 1971 [14 Oct 1970] 29699/71 Heading A6S [Also in Division H1] A doll or like toy having a torso has a sound-producing device within it controlled by a magnetically operated switch so that the sound-producing device is actuated when a magnet is disposed adjacent the torso. As shown, the torso 12 of a doll encloses a soundproducing device such as a toy gramophone 22, driven by an electric motor 24 powered by a battery 30 when switch contacts 38, 42 are closed. The contact 42 is resilient, and abuts a frame 56, &c pivoting on pins 50 on a support frame 44. A ferro-magnetic plate 62 is mounted in the frame 56, so that when the doll is held adjacent a magnet 68, e.g. pinned to the dress of a child, the switch contacts 38, 42 are closed by pivoting of the frame 56, and the sound-producing device 22 is actuated. Alternatively the ferro-magnetic plate 62 may be a magnet.
