Abstract

1,163,696. Animated doll. MATTEL, Inc. 7 Feb., 1968 [11 Oct., 1967], No. 6000/68. Heading A6S. A figure toy comprises a body, appendage e.g.: arms, legs and a head, and a rocker device 28 which oscillates the appendages when rocked and which is operated by a reciprocating push rod device 98 mounted on wheel 124. The rocker device comprises a post 62 rotatably mounted in the toy, which has a plate 72 attached to it. The push rod 98 engages the plate, the corners of which plate engage in V-shaped pockets in cams 148, which are part of the shaft to which the appendages are attached. A return spring 106 is present. Pushing the cart 116 causes the push rod to rotate the rocker device. The rocker device may form the casing or it may be covered with material.
