Abstract
1289080 Dolls G GIROUD 23 July 1971 [5 Aug 1970] 34714/71 Heading A6S A walking doll of the kind in which the torso 4 is rocked from side-to-side about pivot pins 3 on the pelvis 1 to produce walking motion of the legs 3, e.g. as in Specification 1,171,561, has arms 11 pivoted in the torso and provided at their inner ends with eccentric bosses 14 connected through springs 13 and wires 12 to a crossbar 1a fast in the pelvis, so that as the torso rocks, the arms 11 swing back-and-forth. The arms 11 are friction fits within hubs 15b of plates 15 carrying the bosses 14, and can be angularly adjusted relatively to the plates. A rod 16 fast in the torso 4 journals the plate's 15. Rocking of the torso 4 is effected by a battery powered electric motor 5 driving through worm gearing 6, 7 to a shaft 8 carrying an eccentric pin 9 sliding in a slot 10a of a rod 10 fast with the pelvis 1.
